Kimer Med sets up new lab - update Nov 2022

Greetings from Kimer Med.

We’ve set up our new lab!

Great news to report this month - we have secured some shiny new lab space from the world-renowned Cawthron Institute and set up our own lab in Nelson.

Up until now we have been outsourcing our R&D to research facilities around the world in order to leverage their expertise and keep our costs down. The time has come to bring this work in-house and speed up the pace, which we can do with our new facility up and running.

Pictured in the new lab are (L to R) Dr. Mike Schmidt, Andy Clover and Rick Kiessig. Mike has recently come on board as our Business Development Manager, and brings a wealth of experience in this aea.

Getting noticed important for future funding

We are slowly and steadily starting to get noticed for our antiviral work. The media have picked up on the new lab story and we’ve gained national (New Zealand-wide) coverage from this. We’ve also entered the local Business Awards in the Innovation category, which meant telling our story to a panel of judges, and a win here will mean further publicity. We were also recently profiled in New Zealand Entrepreneur Magazine as part of an Innovation series.

All of these are small but important steps as we try and build Kimer Med’s profile and attract more funding and investment to support our work.

If you want to help us with our efforts, please feel free to share our news with your networks. Every little bit helps at this stage. Thank you.

Until next time,
The team at Kimer Med
