Weekly Update Email 10 Oct 2020

Hi,

In case you missed any of the prior Weekly Update emails, I've started publishing them on the forum:

This email list will still be the first and best place to get news and updates.
There are 219 different known human viral diseases. Out of those, there are approved antiviral drugs for only 9 viruses. Only HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Herpes, Influenza, CMV, Varicella-Zoster, RSV and HPV. That's it. Just 9. Many viruses--including HIV--still don't have vaccines, either.
Viruses affect our pets, too. One of the viruses of interest to us Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). FIP is a mutated form of Feline Coronavirus (FC). Although FC is relatively common in cats, if it mutates to FIP, it's fatal 100% of the time, and there are no approved treatments. The article at the link describes how a variant of the antiviral drug Remdesivir is being sold through the black market as a very expensive, unapproved treatment for FIP. We don't yet know if our product will be effective against it, but if it is, hopefully we can help these cats and cat owners.
